The Department of Environmental Architecture was established in 1396 AH as part of the School of Environmental Design at that time. The environmental architecture profession is mainly concerned with planning and designing external spaces. It also undertakes to improve the quality of the environment and the optimal use of the land. The environmental architect uses natural science data and design principles to find solutions to specific problems related to the relationship between the natural environment and that. Which is man-made. Such work requires knowledge of the Earth and its interaction with climate, the water cycle and biology (human, animal, plant).
The department prepares its students to assume full professional responsibility upon their graduation. The study program is concerned with climatic aspects and life systems in general in dry areas, giving special importance to the study of Islamic and Arab traditions in land use and design.
