Preparing a community service committee

 

The Landscape Department implements an annual plan in community partnership that includes implementing a set of activities at different levels, which we list as follows:

  1. In the field of entrepreneurship and pioneering projects:

The Department of Landscape participated in a number of entrepreneurship projects, which we list below:

 

 

 

  • 1.1. Programs and initiatives:

 

  • 1.1.1. Participation of faculty members with students from the department in the international garden design competition at Abha University:

The Department of Landscape faculty members (Dr. Amer Habibullah, Dr. Nawaf Al-Hajjaj, Dr. Abdullah Ghazal, Dr. Ahmed Maghribi, Eng. Raed Dawoud) and students from the department participated in the international competition to design a university in a garden, which was organized by the Urban Sciences Association for the benefit of Asir Authority and the Emirate of Asir, in which the team won the first prize.

 

 

  • 1.1.2. Participation of students from the department in the Al Hada Walkway Design Competition:

The Department of Landscape participated in the initiative to design the Al-Hada Walk in Taif under the guidance of His Highness the Governor of the Makkah Province, Prince Khalid Al-Faisal, and under the supervision of His Excellency King Abdulaziz University and the Dean of the College of Architecture and Planning. Faculty participants in the competition: Dr. Amer Muhammad Habibullah, Dr. Ahmed Abdel Razzaq Maghribi, Dr. Maher Samman M. Raed Daoud, M. Muhammad Bamousa.

 

 

  • 1.1.3. Participation of the Landscape Department in the Al-Hada Walkway design initiative in Taif

Under the guidance of His Highness the Governor of Makkah Al-Mukarramah Region, Prince Khaled Al-Faisal, and under the supervision of His Excellency King Abdulaziz University and the Dean of the College of Architecture and Planning. Faculty participants in the competition: Dr. Amer Muhammad Habibullah, Dr. Ahmed Abdel Razzaq Maghribi, Dr. Maher Samman M. Raed Daoud, M. Muhammad Bamousa.

 

 

  • 1.2. Loans:

In order to achieve community partnership, the College of Architecture and Planning and the Department of Landscape have allowed many faculty members to provide their services outside the college by loaning them according to the mechanisms approved by the university, and they are:

  1. Secondment of Dr. Abdullah Addas: Prince Sattam bin Abdulaziz University as Vice Dean for Postgraduate Studies and Scientific Research.
  2. Providing community service d. Nawaf Al-Hajjaj, working as a part-time consultant to the Asir Region Development Authority (attached is a copy of the authority’s letter) for the period between 10/1/2022 to 4/1/2023 .

 

 

  • 1.3. Consulting and scientific work:

The department provided many consultations and scientific services to internal and external parties according to the following:

 

 

  • 1.3.1. Judging student participation in the fourteenth scientific forum for male and female students at King Abdulaziz University for the year 1444 AH - 2023 AD
  • Share Dr. Dr. Farouk Daghestani as supervisor Landscape Department) at the fourteenth scientific forum for male and female students at King Abdulaziz University for the year 2023 AD - University Vice Presidency for Educational Affairs - King Abdulaziz University. The completion rate reached 100% - receiving student contributions and evaluating them in the first stage and then the final stage.
  • Presented by Dr. Farouk Daghestani Training (with a total of 75 training hours) for 23 high school students within the Mawhiba Academic Enrichment Program (Architecture and Creative Design Unit), which was held at King Abdulaziz University during the period from 7/23/2023 to 8/10/2023 (attached is the trainer’s certificate) .
  • The presence of Dr. Farouk Daghestani: 5 training courses organized by the Center for Knowledge Economy, the King Abdulaziz and His Companions Foundation for Giftedness and Creativity “Mawhiba,” and the Forum of Heads and Supervisors of Scientific Departments at King Abdulaziz University (training certificates attached).

 

 

  • 1.3.2. Cultural awareness activities (public lectures):

Faculty members in the department and a number of guests presented a group of specialized cultural and practical lectures inside and outside the college and in the presence of guests from many parties. These lectures are:

  • 1.4. Dr. Nawaf Al-Hajjaj ( Landscape Department) participated in presenting a lecture on the Bawtqa platform specialized in architecture and urbanism, Nawaf Al -Hajjaj. The lecture contributes to introducing the community to the importance of Landscape specialization in spatial design

 

 

  • 1.5. Student effectiveness in the university partnership:

The participation of faculty members and students of the Department of Landscape in serving the community varied through numerous ceremony venues in the college, and all of this was crowned with an exhibition that shows the pioneering role of the college in the field of architecture and planning.

  1. Participation in the strategic plan workshop of King Khalid University at the invitation of the office of His Highness Prince Turki bin Talal. Participating members: Dr. Amer Habibullah, Dr. Ahmed Al-Maghrabi and Dr. Amr Taiba. Date 12-13- May 2022.
  2. Share Dr. Amer Muhammad Habibullah as a speaker at the International Conference on Mosque Architecture held in the State of Kuwait on November 14-16, 2022.
  3. Share Dr. Abdullah Ghazal at DM for Asia 2023 Virtual Workshop 7-11/8/2023 with GBIF.org as trainer.

- Displaying the projects of college students from all levels and introducing visitors to the students’ work

  • 1.5.2. Student contributions

A volunteer initiative to monitor and record perennial trees in the city of Jeddah:

A team of students carried out a group of field surveys on sites where perennial trees spread in the city of Jeddah, under the supervision of DrAbdullah Ghazal.
