About the department :
The Department of Landscape Architecture (DLA) was established in 1976 (1396 AH) as part of the School of Environmental Design at the Faculty of Engineering (today Faculty of Architecture and Planning), offering the first bachelor program in Landscape Architecture in Saudi Arabia and the Middle East. The program was created with the collaboration of Harvard University faculty members. Since then, the vision of the DLA at King Abdulaziz University (KAU) has been to become a pioneering school in the science and art of landscape architecture in the region, contributing to the understanding, formation, improvement, and protection of the natural, human, and built environments imbued with Islamic values and identity.
