Thesis Title: Explanation of the chapters in the grammar of Shahabuddin al-Khuiyy, who died in 693 AH, study and analysis (Part I)
Thesis Goals: The most important goal behind this thesis is to revive the thought of a great linguist by analyzing his explanation.
Components of the thesis: The research started with an introduction: it included identifying the problem of research, the reasons for selecting the subject and its importance, the purpose of the study, its methodology and its limits, and its classification.
Then the search divided into two sections,
The study section, and the analytical section.
The first section:
the study, and contains a preface and two chapters.
The preface includes a definition of " Ibn Mut al-Zawawi", and his book "the fifty chapters" through two topics .
The first topic
is" Ibn Mut al-Zawawi", who has seven issues: the first is his name , pedigree ,and titles. The second is his birth and description, the third is his early life and career in teaching and judiciary, and the fourth is his elders and disciples, the fifth his written works and poetry. The sixth, his linguistic status, and the seventh, his death. And
the second topic:
the book "chapters 50", and has two issues, the first: the definition of the book, and the second:
The explainers of the book
The first chapter
includes the definition of "Shahab al-Din al-Khoei" and his book: "Explanation of the chapters in grammar", through two topics:
The first topic:
"Shihab al-Din al-Khoei", and it has seven issues, the first: the name and the pedigree of the author, The fifth: his writings and poetry, the sixth: his linguistic status, and the seventh: his death.
The second topic
is the book "Explanation of the chapters in grammar", with two issues. The first is the name of the book in terms of its title, author's attribution, and the time and place of its authorship. The second is a description of the manuscripts of the book, and some samples of the manuscripts.
As for the second chapter:
the planning of the book, it contains four topics.
The first topic is:
Al-Khuwayy in the book, with six issues. The first is the Al-Khoei approach, the second is his sources, the third is the sources on which he depended, and the fourth is his justifications. The fifth is his attitude towards " Ibn Mut al-Zawawi", and the sixth is his grammatical doctrine.
The second topic is:
the approach of the linguistic analysis the book. And
the third topic:
the balance. And
the fourth topic:
the evaluation of the book, with two issues, the first: the linguistic value of the book, and the second: the drawbacks of the book.
The second section is the linguistic analysis; containing the text being analyzed, in which I followed a clear methodology; to bring the book into existence as similar as it was developed by the author, or close to it
Then the research concluded with the results, references and finally the indexes.
The results of the study: several results emerged from the research, most notably: that the Khoei was a follower and advocate of the visual doctrine. And that of his great grammatical students Aba Hayyan Andalusian, and that his explanation is characterized by a lot of justifications, and the systematic explanation. |
